Olvio IT, Inc. releases PlusDock Version 3.0 BETA
PlusDock is a leading docking library for Windows Forms and Microsoft .Net
Framework.
Brooklyn, NY --November 21, 2005-- Olvio IT, Inc. announced today the release
of the version 3.0 of their acclaimed docking library. The library is currently
in BETA status and open to the public for testing.
In the version 3.0, PlusDock brings a plethora of new features, multiple
improvements, upgrades and optimizations as well as a new visual design. To
mention some of the new features in the version 3.0
-
Modern Docking Hints : the library was
aligned to the new standards imposed by Visual Studio 2005 and now
provides the modern docking hints with support for all Windows Themes.
-
MDI Windows : Now the users can switch
between the standard MDI Child Windows and the Tabbed MDI. The switch is
done seamlesly, at runtime and does not require an application restart.
-
Mini-toolbar : The toolwindows have been
equipped with a mini-toolbar where the developer can add as many toolbuttons as
needed and respond to the user clicks.
-
FreeZone : The freezone is a unique feature that
provides a "cheating" way of customizing the toolwindows without going through
the entire inheritance process.
-
XP Tab Theme
: A new predefined theme was added providing an appearance inspired from the
Windows XP Tab control.
-
SnapSplitter : A special type of splitter that has a click
button in the middle that allows it to "snap" and completely collapse a window.
Besides these new core features other well known features have been greatly
improved and refactored. The layout serialization is now faster and more
accurate. The docking engine performs up to 25% faster and the resizing of
panels is smoother. The licensing scheme has been also changed and the
library no longer requires a licensing file. Only a serial number will be
provided and as a result of that the instantiation of the DockModel class is
significantly faster. Not to mention the how easy it is for the developer to
install the license.
The new release of PlusDock is already available on the company website as BETA.
